Why would you take advice from someone you wouldn’t want to trade places with?
I will happily allow and listen to advice from anyone, god knows many people have given me their two cents for yeeeeeears. However, if you don’t have in your life the things that I’m wanting to experience, then it’s unlikely I’m going to take it on. I love ya, but you don’t know how to get me where I wanna be. I will value your intentions but I want workable steps 💛
We tend to run with advice from people because they are a helpful or loving friend or family member. It is so beautiful that we all try to help each other. But ask yourself, does this person actually has the life, the relationship, the health or the success that I want? If the answer is no then think, who does? Who knows the road?
Because if we don’t connect ourselves with a support system, who have actually achieved what we want to achieve, to model our movements off - then it’s literally just the blind leading the blind through a Groundhog Day life.
Would you agree? What do you want most? And who do you know who’s got it? Could you ask them for advice?
Some of mine are people I’ll never personally meet, I learnt from their stories. Some are mentors in business, some have a beautiful family or balanced relationship I hope to create too. These are the people I take advice from.
The great thing about this? All my other connections don’t have to be burdened with my drama needing guidance, those connections just get to stay light and fun and easy for both parties.
Who are your mentors?
