So what is the advice for running a marathon?
1: Dont get hung up on your finish time - or your result against anyone else’s! Stay in your own lane.
2: Hydrate!! And take daily care of your body - without it you dont have much of the above anyway.
3: Prepare your mind not just your body - before anything else, you must find ways to be calm, safe, confident and in love from the inside of your own mind.
4: Dont fear breaks - sometimes you need to slow down or stop to revise, reassess, give yourself a pep talk and gather your thoughts.
5: Pace yourself! Whether you want to do ONE thing with your life or MANY, you have so much time to do so much - dont feel like you have to do it all in one year - and understand that getting good and getting to what you want takes time.... and that’s ok!
6: Know the course in advance - we can never know whats ahead for sure but we can definitely learn what the course looks like for us - and learn from those who have gone before us. Whatever you want to do/be/have - who do you know who has done it? How can you learn from them so you can know what to expect, to prepare for and to action?
7: Stick to your game plan - decide on the things that you want to experience in your life, be it many or few. Make a plan and stick to it. You may have to adjust the course, the actions, the approach or the players from time to time but if you keep changing your end goals you’ll keep getting no where.
8: Enjoy it! Life is fleeting, and maybe we have many lives, maybe we only have one but the point is that we HAVE IT, That is a blessing not to take for granted. How can you enjoy every moment of this life? The easy and the hard? We came here for it ALL!
