People always ask me how I’m always in a good mood, positive all the time and so on.
At the end of the day I am because I choose to be.
I choose to be because it’s just the better feeling & I would rather focus on the things that are working out for me and the things that bring me joy than focus on and talk about the things that just make you feel down.
Now this is easier said than done some days. Especially when you are amidst situations that do not serve your soul or give you much time to do so. Be it your job, your family, your friends, your social agenda.
I am a big believer in an early start, morning exercise or activities before any TV or social media is turned on. This can be anything from a 10min run around the block at sunrise to a full day adventure into the wild.
*** NOTE: I sleep with my phone on flight mode so as to not be distracted by notifications first thing in the morning ***
Getting up & out early is a great way to feed your body and mind with good energy and create a solid foundation for your day before the influence of others starts to infiltrate.
You might even meet some new people out in the real world who are doing the same thing. And while I’m on that point, when you are out in the world, look up! Say hello to the people you see, smile at strangers and maybe even ask them how they are. We seem to have become so afraid of each other and yet I guarantee you will be surprised by what comes from a simple smile or greeting. And even if all you get is a smile in return, you may have made someone’s day by simply acknowledging they existence.
So the answer is quite simple. Choose the good feeling thoughts, activities and surroundings & make the effort to give yourself the time, once a day, to set your intentions for what you want your day to be like & how you want to feel.
Once you have done this, anytime that decision is challenged by your circumstances, come back to that choice, change the subject to something better, remove yourself from situations that don’t feel good to you & trust that decision.
It’s annoyingly simple. You just have to let go of all your excuses.
